Bia Electric — specialist booking
Bia Electric Limited — Terms & Conditions for Remedial Work Bookings
Version 2026-08-24
1. Who we are and scope
1.1 These terms apply to remedial and call-out work booked with Bia Electric Limited ("we", "us", "the Company") through our online booking system at booking.bia-electric.co.uk. Bia Electric Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 13876708, VAT registration number 408063418. You can contact us at any time using the contact form at https://www.bia-electric.com/contact.
1.2 The service covers third-party remedial work, including battery energy storage system (BESS) and renewables work, on the same basis as our existing arrangement with Levelise.
1.3 We work on a recommendation basis only and do not tout for work.
2. Nature of the service
2.1 A booking is for our time, attendance and specialist assessment, not for a specific outcome. As remedial and call-out work is inherently uncertain, we cannot and do not guarantee that a fault will be repaired, resolved or fully diagnosed during the booked visit. We will carry out all work with reasonable care and skill.
2.2 A standard visit is 90 minutes of on-site time. Half-day (4 hours) and full-day (8 hours) visits are also available where shown at booking.
3. Fees
3.1 The call-out fee for each visit type is shown at the point of booking, before you pay.
3.2 Parts are charged in addition, at supplier cost plus a handling charge, plus VAT. Where practicable, parts will be agreed with you before they are ordered or fitted.
3.3 Travel is calculated automatically from your postcode using estimated driving time (not straight-line distance) from our base at LS27 9EB. Where travel time exceeds the allowance included in the call-out fee, the additional time is charged at the travel rate shown in your quote.
3.4 Where your booking is made under a referral arrangement (for example, Levelise), travel may instead be charged per mile at the rate shown in your quote.
3.5 Where the journey involves significant travel, an overnight stay may be required. An overnight charge per night applies, and accommodation is charged at cost; both will be confirmed with you before the visit is confirmed.
3.6 All applicable fees are calculated and itemised before you pay. The quote presented at checkout is the authoritative price for your booking.
3.7 VAT is charged at the prevailing rate. Prices at checkout are shown inclusive of VAT.
4. Booking and payment
4.1 Availability is shown in real time at the point of booking. A selected slot is held for 20 minutes while you complete checkout.
4.2 A booking is not confirmed until payment has been made in full and you have received written confirmation.
4.3 Once payment is received and confirmation issued, the slot is reserved for you.
5. Site safety declaration
5.1 Before the visit, you must complete a safety declaration describing the current state of the working area. Rather than ticking boxes, you are asked to describe each item in a sentence.
5.2 The declaration covers, as a minimum: asbestos; structural safety; dangerous animals; electrical safety (including the date of the last electrical safety test and the state and termination of cables, with no exposed parts); smoking (no smoking in the property during the visit); physical lifting, shifting and access; recent checks for wasps or other pests in relevant areas such as roof or attic spaces; and adequate ventilation so that the working space is not unreasonably hot when the engineer arrives.
5.3 You may optionally (and are strongly encouraged to) upload photographs showing that the working area is ready — for example, a cleared cupboard under the stairs, or a clear one-metre space around the battery. For remedial work, please include one photo of the installation and one of the wider space. Photos should show the current state ("it is ready"), not a future intention.
5.4 You confirm that the information provided is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and you acknowledge that the visit relies on this information. You must tell us about any material change to the site before the visit.
6. Parking
6.1 Any parking costs are your responsibility, charged at cost, pre-agreed where possible and disclosed upfront.
7. Unsafe or misdescribed sites
7.1 If, on arrival, the site is unsafe or materially different from what you have described, the visit will be aborted.
7.2 Safety is assessed against objective safety requirements and recognised safe working practices.
7.3 Where a visit is aborted on safety grounds, no refund is due. You are responsible for making the site safe before booking a further visit.
8. Time on site and overruns
8.1 The visit ends when the booked on-site time is used. If more time would help, the engineer may offer to continue — extra time is charged only by agreement with you on site, in 30-minute increments at the rate confirmed with you before continuing.
8.2 If the work cannot be completed within the visit (including any agreed extension), any further work requires a new booking at our standard rates.
9. Cancellation, rescheduling and access
9.1 You may cancel or reschedule free of charge up to 7 days before the visit; cancellations are refunded in full.
9.2 Within 7 days of the visit, the booking fee (including travel and any overnight charges) is not refundable. We may, at our discretion, offer one reschedule.
9.3 Bookings made within 7 days of the visit date are non-refundable once confirmed. We may, at our discretion, offer one reschedule.
9.4 If nobody is present at the agreed time, or access to the working area has not been arranged, the visit is treated as aborted and no refund is due.
9.5 If we have to cancel or rebook (for example, illness or an emergency at a prior job), you may choose a full refund or priority rebooking. We are not liable for any other losses arising from rescheduling.
10. Your statutory rights
10.1 If you book as a consumer, you may have a 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By booking a visit that takes place within 14 days of the booking, you expressly request that we perform the service within the cancellation period, and you acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed you lose the right to cancel.
10.2 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to have services performed with reasonable care and skill.
11. Liability
11.1 Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
11.2 Subject to 11.1, our total liability in connection with a booking is limited to the fees paid for that booking, and we are not liable for pre-existing defects in the installation or for indirect or consequential losses.
12. Documentation
12.1 Following payment, we will email you the completed safety declaration together with your invoice, so that everything is documented before we set off.
13. General
13.1 These terms are versioned. The version that applies to your booking is the one you accept at the time of booking, which we record against your booking.
13.2 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
